LIEUTENANT COLONEL (RETIRED) LEE C. ANDERSON

LTC Anderson - SAI , LET-3 & LET-4 Instructor.

BIOGRAPHICAL SKETCH



Lee C. Anderson was born in Gulfport, Mississippi. He received his Bachelor of Science Degree in Educational Psychology from Mississippi State University and his Master of Arts Degree in Human Relations from Webster University. While attending Mississippi State, he participated in the US Army Reserve Officers Training Corps Program. Upon graduation, he was declared a Distinguished Military Graduate, commissioned as a Regular Army Second Lieutenant, Infantry and began active duty service immediately at Fort Benning, Georgia. He  commanded a Basic Combat Training Company, an Army Recruiting Company and an Army Recruiting Battalion. He served in South Vietnam as a Mobile Advisory Team Leader and Staff Officer and served five years in the 82D Airborne Division in a variety of leadership and staff positions. His awards and decorations include the Master Parachutist Badge, Ranger Tab and Combat Infantryman Badge. He retired from the US Army at Fort Hamilton, New York and started the Tiger Battalion JROTC Program in August 1993. He resides in Staten Island, New York and has three children; Steven, Peter and Nicole. His daughter Katherine graduated from the University of Colorado and is now living at Boulder.




FIRST SERGEANT (RETIRED) J. D. LEWIS

    BIOGRAPHICAL SKETCH



    J.D. Lewis was born in Bell Gardens California and entered the US Army on August 15th, 1971. First Sergeant Lewis has served in a variety of assignments and staff positions around the world, including Fort Carson Colorado, Schofield Barracks Hawaii, Camp Casey Korea, and his last unit of assignment with the 26th Army Band, at Fort Hamilton New York. 1SG Lewis’ last assignment at Fort Hamilton Army Base was as the Post Sergeant Major from 1994-1995. His awards and decorations include the Legion of Merit, Meritorious Service Medal with 1 oak leaf cluster, and the Army Commendation Medal with 3 oak leaf clusters.  First Sergeant Lewis is an Expert Marksman with the M-16 Rifle; the 45 Caliber Pistol; the M-60 Machine-Gun; and the M203 Grenade Launcher. 1SG Lewis additionally received his Expert Drivers Badge for 24 years of accident free driving while in the military. He retired from the Army on the 1st of September 1995 from Fort Hamilton Army Base in Brooklyn New York after 24 years of service and began teaching JROTC at Fort Hamilton High School on the 6th Of September, 1995. 1SG Lewis is married to Denise and they reside in Breezy Point.  They have one son and one daughter that are living on their own.
