Tiger Battalion » Honor Unit With Disctinction

An Honor Unit With Distinction is signified by the Gold Star, which is worn above the right pocket. Honor Unit with Distinction is the highest honor a JROTC Batallion can earn. Every 3 years, inspectors come to Fort Hamilton High School, looking over Cadet files, inspecting Supply Room Inventories, listening to Cadet Staff Briefings, and Training Management, inspecting Cadet uniforms, etc. Scoring a 960 or above, results in the awarding of the Honor Unit With Distinction. The Tiger Battalion has earned the gold star 3 consecutive times. In 2003, the Tiger Battalion scored a 983.
