   Tiger Battalion » Knowledge » Uniform Wear

First, let's start off with some questions you might need for the inspection... and some for basic knowledge. The uniforms and required equipment for it, are given to you on a loan basis. You are responsible for your own uniform. While the uniform is in your possession, you are responsible for the dry cleaning and normal maintenance.

    What do the buttons on the uniform represent?

    What % of your grade is uniform wear?

    • 40%


    What day is the designated uniform wear day?

    • Wednesday. If you are absent, you have to wear it the very next day. If you are present and you don't wear the uniform, the highest grade you can get is 50. Cadets need to be prepared to answer questions concerning their Chain of Command during the Open Ranks Inspection.
How is my hair supposed to look during uniform wear?

  • For males
    • The top of the head is NEATLY trimmed and not of an excessive length.
    • The hair is NOT allowed to fall over the eyebrows.
    • NO Pony tails.
    • The side and back should be trimmed and tapered, NOT TOUCHING THE COLLAR OR EARS.
    • When worn, sideburns neatly trimmed and evenly tapered, with a clean line.
    • Beards ARE NOT authorized.
    • If a mustache is worn, it must be kept neatly trimmed, tapered, and tidy. It shouldn't present a chopped off appearance.
    • ONLY NATURAL HAIRCOLORS ARE ALLOWED.

  • For Females
    • Hair worn in such a manner it does not touch the top of the collar and not fall over anyone's eyebrows.
    • ONLY NATURAL HAIRCOLORS ARE ALLOWED.

    You should always wear your cover when you are outside of a building.

    Things to know

    • No part of the uniform is EVER to be worn as civilian attire.
    • Do not loosen your tie. When a tie is worn, the top button of your shirt is to be buttoned.
    • Except during very bad weather, no kind of outer civilian clothing worn with uniform.
    • Keep your coat, your shirt, and your pockets buttoned.
    • Wear your belt so your metal tip is to your left.
    • Shoes should be black and always polished. On your Class A and Class B shoes, you can use Windex to polish them. On your Class C use KIWI BLACK SHOE POLISH. On some Class A's and B's shoes, you need to polish them with kiwi.
    • Stud earrings worn on females on lower part of the ear lobe.
    • Males can't wear earrings.
    • There is to be no more than two rings per hand.
    • There is to be no dangling bracelets.
    • When worn, necklaces are not to be seen.
    • Wallet chains are not to be worn.
    • No fingernail polish is to ever be worn with your uniform.

Female Uniform


Requirements

  • Hair must be off ears and collar. No ponytails.
  • Scrunchies must be color of hair.
  • Only one ring per hand can be worn.
  • Skin-colored stocking only.
  • Only one set of stud earrings can be worn that coincide to each other.
  • No flashy or an excessive amount of make-up should be worn.
  • Only clear, skin tone, or natural color nail polish is acceptable.


Class B

  • Board Rank: On shoulder tabs.
  • Name Tag: Aligned with the top button and centered on the seam.
  • Ribbons: Aligned with the top button and centered (left-right) on the seam.
  • Star: Centered (left-right) and 1/4 inch above the name tag.
  • Wreath: Centered (left-right) and 1/8 inch above the name tag. The star is placed inside the wreath.
  • School Crest: Centered between the third and fourth buttons and placed on the seam.
  • Pins: Placed between the second and third button and centered (left-right) on the seam. Each pin is placed 1/4 inch apart from each other.
  • Cords: A maximum of two cords can be worn. If one is worn, it goes on the left. If two are worn, the highest goes on the left.


Class A

  • Rank: 1/2 inch from the edge of the shoulder seam. Arrows always point toward the collar.
  • School Shoulder Patch: Centered on the shoulder sleeve. 1/2 inch down from the shoulder seam.
  • JROTC Shoulder Patch: Centered on the shoulder sleeve. 1/2 inch down from the shoulder seam.
  • Star: Centered (left-right) 1/4 inch above the name tag.
  • Academic Wreath: Centered (left-right) 1/8 inch above the name tag.
  • Name Tag: The bottom of the name tag is align with the top of the first button; centered on the seam.
  • School Crest: Centered between the second and third button, placed on the seam.
  • Ribbons: The bottom of the ribbons are align with the top of the first button; centeres on the seam.
  • Pins: Place between the second and third button, centered (left-right) on the seam. Each pin is placed 1/4 inch apart.
  • JROTC Pin (Officers): Placed diagnolly on the upper lapel.
  • Cords: A maximum of two cords can be worn. If one is worn, it goes on the left. If two are worn, the highest goes on the left.


Male Uniform


    Requirements

    • Clean cut hair cuts, off ears and collar.
    • A clean shaved face; mustaches should not be any wider than the width of the mouth.
    • No side burns.
    • No earrings worn with uniform.
    • Only black socks should be worn with the uniform.
    • Allowed only one ring per hand.


Class B

  • Board Rank: On shoulder tabs.
  • Name Tags: Centered between the top of the pocket and the pocket button.
  • Ribbons: Centered on the pocket and stacked up from the top of the pocket.
  • Star: 1/4 inch above the top of the pocket and centered (left-right) with the pocket.
  • Wreath: 1/8 inch above the top of the pocket and centered (left-right) with the pocket. The star is worn inside the wreath.
  • School Crest: Centered (left-right) with the pocket and centered between the bottom of the pocket flap and the bottom of the pocket.
  • Pins: Centered between the bottom of the pocket flap and the bottom of the pocket. Each pin should be 1/4 inch apart from each other.
  • Cords: A maximum of two cords can be worn. If one is worn, it goes on the left. If two are worn, the highest goes on the left.


Class A

  • Rank: 1/2 inch from the edge of the shoulder seam. Arrows always point towards collar.
  • School Shoulder Patch: Centered on shoulder sleeve. 1/2 inch down from the shoulder seam.

  • Cords: A maximum of two cords can be worn. If one is worn, it goes on the left. If two are worn, the highest goes on the left.
 
     There have been visitors since Fall 2001.
